Cologne with all the senses – A journey through 150 years of city history – 11.09.2026

The „Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger“ is inviting you on a musical and culinary journey through 150 years of Cologne city history with the Cologne band „De Kallendresser“. The evening, hosted by Helmut Frangenberg („Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger“, „Loss mer singe“), combines historical and modern songs with a fine „Kölschen Fooderkaat“, the Cologne menu.

The „Kallendresser“ are renowned for their fine interpretations of Cologne classics spanning three centuries. The band has been making music together since the late 1980s – but only where they fancy. A concert with the „Kallendresser“ is always something very special. For the evening at the Wolkenburg, they have chosen songs that describe the moods and events of a big city that developed into a vibrant metropolis during the Imperial era and the Weimar Republic. Further gems of Cologne song culture tell of post-war reconstruction and urban development up to the present day. A lyric booklet makes it easier to sing along. In addition, Helmut Frangenberg will share exciting, but also curious, stories about changes in the city and the much-sung self-understanding of Cologne's residents since the founding of the „Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.“.

In the year that marks the 150th birthday of the „Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger“, Konrad Adenauer, and Willi Ostermann, a musical panorama unfolds: humorous, tongue-in-cheek, and always close to the Cologne way of life. Singing together and enjoying a multi-course, traditional Cologne meal from the top cuisine of the Wolkenburg – that is the programme for the evening. The „Cuvée Adenauer“, an exclusive anniversary wine from the top wine estate Wegeler for the 150th anniversary of the „Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger“, will also be served as a wine accompaniment.
