On the road with the Hanse Stube – Culinary wine hike along the Ahr – 11.09.2026

On 11th September 2026, the Hanse Stube at the Excelsior Hotel Ernst is hosting a special evening of indulgence on the Ahr: Together with Head Chef Lars Wolf, Restaurant Manager Maria Friedrich, and the renowned MEYER-NÄKEL and KLUMPP wineries, guests can expect an exclusive culinary wine hike amidst the vineyards around Dernau.

The journey itself becomes part of the evening: during the drive from Cologne to the Ahr, an initial glass of wine and a small culinary accompaniment set the tone for the experience. Once there, the wine hike begins with a reception in the traditional orchard meadow, before the approximately 1.5 km long hike leads up to the Krausbergturm. From there, an impressive view opens up over the Ahr vineyards to the Siebengebirge, into the Eifel and to Cologne Cathedral.
At various tasting stations, Hanse Stube, Weingut MEYER-NÄKEL, and Weingut KLUMPP will be presenting perfectly harmonised food and wines. The atmospheric highlight will be the dinner at the Krausberg-Hütte – either outdoors or under cover, depending on the weather.
In the Hanse Stube's anniversary year, look forward to an evening dedicated to what it's known for: fine cuisine, selected wines, and impressive moments of pleasure that will be remembered.
