Unanimously, the jury has chosen Joschua Tepner with his new restaurant „The Dutch“ as the Newcomer of the Year 2025. With his years of experience in fine dining and his passion for extraordinary flavours, Joschua Tepner is captivating in his new role. He stands for fresh, seasonal ingredients that are artfully arranged and refined with a touch of creative sophistication.
Among his most formative experiences are, among others, Topper’s at the Wauwinet in the USA and the DOX Restaurant at the Hyatt Düsseldorf. For a long time, he successfully managed the kitchen at the Hanse Stube in the Excelsior Hotel Ernst – a Cologne institution. Even from there, he was active as part of the Fine Food Days Cologne.
He now designs „The Dutch,“ which represents a new dimension in fine casual dining. Masterful culinary art and a relaxed atmosphere come together here. The flavours of modern Western cuisine meet refined Asian influences here. It's about more than just good food: The Dutch is about the art of enjoyment.
